Jyotsna Ram – Network Facilitator
Dr. Jyotsna Ram’s doctoral research, completed in April 2014 and funded by Oxford Brookes University’s Urban Futures programme, investigated the potential of urban community projects in the UK to provide for society’s energy and food needs in a changing climate. Prior to this, Jo worked at the Commission for Architecture and Built Environment (CABE), a non-departmental government body under the previous Labour government. Her current research interests include sustainable urban transitions, community energy and food, and the potential of public institutions to deliver a sustainable future.
In addition to coordinating the Leverhulme Network, Jo continues her research on sustainability issues, teaches at the Bartlett School of Planning, University College London, and is a co-founder of Community Reinvest, a social enterprise working with local authorities, communities and financial institutions to deliver sustainable urban transitions. Jo is also a commissioning editor for Red Pepper Magazine.
